Privacy Policy

1. Data minimization
We collect only what the product needs: your email address (for one-time login codes), the handle you choose, your name and age bracket (collected at signup, per our Eligibility requirements), and your city-level location (for local leaderboards). We do not collect precise location, contact lists, exact birthdate, or anything beyond what’s listed here. Account holders under 18 are handled with the same minimization — an age bracket, never an exact age or birthdate.
2. Video proofs are ephemeral
Every video you upload as challenge proof is automatically and permanently deleted from our storage 24 hours after it’s uploaded. This deletion is enforced by an automated process, not a manual step, and applies whether or not the match has been settled.
3. Data protection & security
Data in transit to and from Basement13 is encrypted. Access to your account data is restricted to what each system needs to function, and administrative access is logged. In the event of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users without undue delay once the scope of the incident is understood.
4. Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account from your profile at any time. This anonymizes your email, handle, name, and age bracket, and immediately purges any of your video proofs still in storage — it does not wait for the normal 24-hour window. Match records that another player’s history depends on are kept, but with no personal information of yours attached. Deletion cannot be undone.
5. What we never do
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use your video proofs for anything other than the match you recorded them for.
